Candida is wife to Wimal and mother to Clive and Sr. Mary of Divine Love. Candy and Wimal's testimony of generosity and selflessness can be seen in the career and vocations of their children: Clive in the Australian Army and Sr. Divine Love a religious sister of the SSVM order.
In 2018, Candy was diagnosed with advanced Stage 3 breast cancer. Doctors told her to undergo chemo-surgery-chemo-radiation which would give her a life expectancy of 5 years. Candy and her family have made an informed decision to undergo a natural medicine treatment plan.
Candy started this journey with HOPE and continues to. For just over a year now, Candy has been fighting cancer and accepting her sufferings with joy. She is doing well in spirit and is taking the sufferings as an opportunity to sanctify them for the Church (especially for priests, religious, marriages and families).
In the past couple of months, Candy's condition has worsened. The tumour has grown and the surrounding skin has broken down. There is a wound around the tumour area and the doctor said it could take up to 6 months to heal due to the cancer. Candy is now in Mexico with Sr. Divine Love receiving a natural medicine program that is only available there. We are praying that she is able to make her flight on September 16 as she is in a lot of pain.
Wimal has been such a great husband in his courage, fidelity, constancy and perseverance. Both Clive and Sister have also been supporting them in the best way they can from their respective assignments.
The family would like to thank all of you for your prayers and support. Nevertheless, they are now struggling financially with the costs of treating Candy's illness. The medical bills have been costly and have added up very quickly. She will need $100,000 AUD to fund her treatment. This includes costs of medicines, doctors' appointments, travel costs and further medical tests.
