Support Calvin (Cal) and Lydia Kempken through their cancer journey! Cal was diagnosed with testicular cancer on March 14th, shortly after the onset of symptoms. He had immediate and successful surgery on March 18th, followed by routine tumor marker monitoring. To Cal and Lydia’s surprise, in subsequent weeks the tumor markers began to increase. On May 6th, a CT scan showed the cancer had metastasized to a regional lymph node. The prognosis and outlook remains positive, however Cal must now endure 9 weeks (May 14th-July 8th) of intense chemotherapy followed by recovery time and a possible second surgery. Although a cancer diagnosis is always devastating, the timing of this life event has also impacted Cal and Lydia’s joyful journey to parenthood as they have a baby due date of July 7th!

Fortunately, Cal and Lydia have a tremendous support system of family and friends! With that being said, there are significant financial implications to this journey including many months of lost wages (unable to predict when that may change) and the arrival of a new baby! A contribution in any amount would mean the world to Cal and Lydia, providing them with a little less stress and the ability to focus on staying strong and BEATING cancer!!
