Join Bryan's Fight for a Full Recovery

On the evening of April 23, Bryan had a severe stroke that left his entire left side paralyzed. He was by himself and didn’t know why he couldn’t move normally. He fell in the bedroom and tried pulling himself up on the bed for hours. He did not have his phone with him (it was in the living room) He was finally able to crawl into the living room and retrieve his phone but then was so exhausted he didn’t call anyone.

His doctors stated the stroke was caused by a blood clot because of a heart condition known as AFIB. Bryan has been working very hard with his physical, occupational and cognitive therapists. Even though he has made significant progress, he will need additional care to be able to live independently and get back to work. The normal recovery period after a stroke like Bryan had is a minimum of 6 months to 1 year. Unfortunately, Bryan’s insurance will not pay all of the costs associated with his care nor his continuing living expenses that he will not be able to pay. With this being said, he really needs help to cover medical, recovery, and living expenses in the meantime.

The raised funds will be used to pay for his continuing COBRA/medical coverage with Blue Cross Blue Shield, his normal monthly expenses until he can get back to work and for therapy tools/equipment that insurance won’t cover (specialized wheelchair, eStim unit to stimulate his nerves and muscles on his left side, etc.) but will help him be more comfortable to maximize his therapy. He is working very hard every day in therapy and his ultimate goal is to be able to get back his independence and get back to work asap!

The latest update: The therapists have been working hard to get his strength and movement back into his left leg. His left arm is still flaccid (can’t move it at all) but he is beginning to at least have some feeling back there. We are waiting for his brain swelling to reduce further, heal and make new connections so that it recognizes his left side.

Please know any amount is appreciated and that all money raised will strictly go to Bryan’s recovery so please give what you can and share with all of your family and friends. Please also pray for a full recovery for him! Thank you!
