60 day post transplant update
Brooke is overall doing really well. Her counts are continuing to rise! She has now gone 1 month without needing any infusions which is great! When she was first diagnosed back in January she was needing transfusions every other day!
Her body has successfully engrafted Hudson’s cells. Her energy level is still very up & down and she gets tired easily. She is still immune compromised and we are being very careful. Tomorrow she will be graduating from 5th grade!

She is strong & brave. We are SO proud of her!

Thank you to everyone who has sent their love, prayers & donated to our go fund me. We really appreciate all of the support during this difficult time!

Meet Brooke, a brave 10-year-old girl from Tucson battling aplastic anemia. Imagine your bone marrow just stopping - no longer making the cells your body needs to survive. For kids like Brooke, that means an urgent bone marrow transplant and a long, tough road to recovery.

But here's the incredible part - her 6-year-old little brother is her donor! The bond between them is pure love, and he's giving her the greatest gift of all: a second chance at life.

Since January 2025 Brooke has been in and out of the hospital, with the last 6 weeks being in a hospital room 24/7. Her mom and dad (Leslie and Rory) stayed by her side and never made her go through this process alone. This little girl had so much support from not only family and friends, but also her nurses and Dr.

All of Brooke's family played a huge role during the last couple months. Rory, her dad, missed a lot of work to be able to be with Brooke and her momma in the hospital. Leslie, her momma, stayed by Brooke's bed side the entire time. Hudson, her brother, was her donor, but he wasn't able to be with her and their parents at all times. Brooke's nanna and pappa, Pam and Scott, took care of Hudson and all three of their fur babies. They have such a strong support system and are surrounded with love making this process possible.

Brooke, Hudson, mom and dad are all finally back home together with their dogs. However, Brooke still has a long road ahead of her. She will have ongoing treatment for at least the next year.

Every child fighting for their life deserves comfort, hope and silver linings. This is why your donation would mean so much to the Brooke and her family. All donations will go towards helping Brooke's medical bills, prescriptions, natural hair wigs (she lost her hair due to the chemo), dental work to be done from the aplastic anemia side effects later down the road, and helping the Boddie family with daily/monthly bills for the next year.

Thank you for taking the time to read about Brooke's story. Even if you're not able to help by donating, she would appreciate if you would please raise awareness for aplastic anemia.

Update 04/18/25 - Dr's stated they were hoping 95% of Hudson's cells would engraft in Brooke. They just got the call that 100% was engrafted. That's amazing news!!!
