Join Brayden's Battle: Overcoming Lymphoma

Wil and Charlie Wilcox are two wonderful, caring, and selfless people. They both are hardworking in healthcare, providing care and giving to others. Their family just received devastating news that one of their sons was diagnosed with lymphoma. Brayden is their 16-year-old boy. He had a kidney transplant at a very young age, so information like this isn't new to them. However, with this new diagnosis, there will be a lot of time away from home and work, attending doctor appointments and treatment opportunities. This will create additional medical expenses, out-of-pocket expenses for traveling, and expenses related to missing work. As you can imagine, this will create added stress and devastation to the family. Let's help this loving and caring family out.
A message from the family:
PTLD Post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorder is a type of B-Lymphoma that affects about 3% of kidney transplant recipients.
Brayden has been diagnosed with PTLD, more specifically DLCBL Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma.
Luckily, DLCBL has a high cure rate and researchers are learning more and more everyday. Brayden started his 5 drug chemotherapy regimen, R-CHOP, on Friday and the plan will be one long day of chemotherapy every 3 weeks, for 6 rounds. This will put us into July with treatments.
This boy has beaten every obstacle that has been thrown at him starting with his kidney transplant at 1 year old and now at 16 he is going to beat this too!
He has a very good outlook and is ready to fight this crap. He knows we won't be taking it easy on him because he is strong, amazing, and wonderful and he will come out on the other side of this a stronger, more amazing young man.
We covet your prayers for peace, understanding and comfort for his siblings, minimal chemo side effects and a clean bill of health at the end of this chapter in the very dramatic story that is Brayden's life.
We don't know how strong we really are until being strong is our only choice.
