Hello everyone,
I’m reaching out to share an exciting opportunity for my daughter Samantha and me, and to ask for your support on this journey. Samantha began her taekwondo journey in February 2021, shortly after a challenging year of social distancing due to the pandemic. At the time, I had just welcomed her baby brother into the world and was adjusting to being a mom of three with an 8-year gap between Samantha and the new baby.
Taekwondo quickly became a passion for Samantha. Despite initial challenges like flexibility and kicking, she showed up with determination and dedication to every class. Her perseverance inspired me, and as she began preparing for her black belt in January 2024, I decided to join her in training. By April 2024, Samantha had proudly earned her black belt, and in May, I signed up at Ace Taekwondo, with Samantha mentoring me along the way.
Samantha lost her father in 2015 when she was just two years old. For 5 years, it was just her, her older brother, and me. As our family grew, I wanted to ensure that our bond remained strong. Taekwondo has been a wonderful way for us to connect and strengthen that bond.
Now, we have an incredible opportunity to travel to South Korea and compete in an international World Olympic Taekwondo Tournament. This would be our first time traveling outside the continental U.S., making it a once-in-a-lifetime experience for both of us.
The cost for this trip is $4,650 per student, totaling $9,300 for Samantha and me to attend. We’ve been working hard to raise funds, and we hope you might consider supporting us. Any contribution, big or small, will bring us closer to this amazing opportunity.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for your support. We truly appreciate it!
Warm regards,
Bonnie & Samantha
