My name is Blythe, and I’m reaching out to share my family’s story.

On August 8th, 2025, my father suffered a sudden and life-threatening aortic tear while he and my mom were on their way to celebrate their 42nd wedding anniversary. They had been looking forward to a peaceful vacation together, but instead, everything changed in an instant.

He was rushed by ambulance to Albany Medical Center, where doctors told us that without immediate surgery, he had only 24–48 hours to live. He underwent a grueling 12-hour surgery that day, followed by another 4-hour surgery the very next day. Since then, he has been sedated and on a ventilator.

My mom has been by his side every single moment, staying in a nearby hotel so she can be close to him. My parents are truly extraordinary people — the kind who would drop everything to help someone in need — and now they are the ones who need help.
