Join Blake's Recovery: Aid His Family

Dear friends, family, and community,

My name is Kim, and my partner, best friend, and love of my life, Blake, is an amazing dad to our two children (5 and 10) and a dedicated nurse who has served in the healthcare field for over 15 years. He's the emotional support, joy, and provider for his family, friends, patients, and community. His compassion and empathetic presence is well known to those closest to him. This Thanksgiving, Blake suffered a rare life-threatening infection from a minor cut, requiring emergency surgery, intensive care, more surgeries, and 11 days of hospitalization. Thankfully, he was able to keep his leg and his life and is on the road to recovery, but he currently has limited mobility and is unable to work.

This unexpected crisis has placed a significant financial and emotional burden on our family. We were already facing challenges due to the unexpected recent losses of my father and younger brother, Tommy. We live in Edgewater, FL and Hurricane Milton also caused some significant damage to our home (tree fell on our roof, rain damage, etc) My emotional rock being so ill caused me to stop working and to take on managing the family as well as be there for Blake during a scary, vulnerable, and uncertain time. Now, with medical bills, essential medications, and daily living expenses, our emergency funds are depleted. We are struggling to afford utilities, housing costs, childcare, groceries, and transportation.

This Christmas gave our family the greatest gift we could receive, which was Blake's survival. As difficult as it is to ask for help, we've decided to lean on our family's greatest resource: family, friends, and community. We are deeply grateful for those who have already offered kind words, prayers, emotional and financial support. If you are able, we humbly ask for your financial assistance during this critical time.
