Join Bill's Journey: From Cancer to Hope
Donation protected
William Wright, known as Uncle Bill to me, “Superman,” was diagnosed with cancer 2 years ago and has fought a very hard battle, a successful one. He was placed on a transplant list, and he received a phone call in the middle of the night saying they had one! As this was very exciting, emotional, and has been a bit of a bumpy ride, as you all can imagine!
His sister, Bonnie Wright Shaw, and his brother-in-law, Warren Shaw, have been caring for him over the duration of his battle, and now they need some help! Bonnie is staying in Rochester at a hotel to be with Bill as there have been some touch-and-go situations, and Warren is traveling back and forth from Croghan, NY to Rochester, NY. Once he is released, he will need to be in Rochester once a month for three days at the transplant clinic, as well as weekly bloodwork will need to be done. Bill is also required by insurance to use a specific pharmacy in Watertown, NY, which is 45 minutes from their home. It’s a lot of travel, it’s exhausting, and expensive, and as you all know, just a few short months ago, Bonnie and Bill lost their brother Bob to a similar cancer who used to help out a lot with Bill's travels.
So, as Uncle Bill's niece in another state, I’m asking from the bottom of my heart, tragedy strikes a lot of people, share our story, donate a little, anything will help! I appreciate everything and anything!
