Join Big Hoff's Fight Against Heart Failure

Donation protected
My name is Lauren Hoffman the wife of John Hoffman… John has four daughters and two small grandchildren that he provides for. John’s friends know him as Big Hoff or Big John. Unfortunately, my husband has been suffering the last three years with heart failure and congestive heart failure along with many more complications which I’d like to share with everyone. In 2014 John was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation and has gone through seven ablations. John also was diagnosed with hypertension and type two diabetes in 2021. John suffered his first heart attack in 2022 and that’s when John was first diagnosed with congestive heart failure. John had his second heart attack which paralyzed the left side of his heart and left him with no function in that part of his heart. The only function that John has is the right side of his heart. Three months later, John’s lungs and heart filled up with fluid and blood which sent in him into a coma for six days and on life-support. Since that time John has been in and out of ICU again many times. In 2023, John was complaining of chest pains again and he ended up at Saint Peter’s in Albany, New York. There, he had a triple bypass where he unfortunately caught an infection and was there for 22 days then sent home. The infection came back and he ended up back in ICU for two more weeks fighting the infection. He was also diagnosed with coronary artery disease and the graphing has shown narrowing in the arteries which is causing John’s heart to not produce enough oxygen and blood to go around. He has been in and out of ICU in the hospital more times than he’s been home this month. We reached out to a couple specialist and even took a trip out to Boston to see about a heart transplant. Unfortunately, John does not qualify for a transplant because he would not make it that long on an operating table to have such a surgery done. In the mean time he had seen a neurologist and was diagnosed with CTE, which they believe has been caused from many concussions from football. My husband started playing football at seven years old in the Pee-wee league and finished his career in college ..my husband continues to fight the good fight fight ..in about a week or two. We’re supposed to see some specialist down in Westchester Medical and Valhalla to see if there’s ANYTHING possible they could do for my husband at this time. We were told that medication and keeping John comfortable is all we can do and just let nature take its course. I’m reaching out to all John’s friends, teammates, or if you have a loved one that suffering from heart disease we need some help financially. All this has taken a big financial toll on my family over the last three years. So with the help of the Cesark family, we are trying to raise some money for John’s every day expenses of living and to help the family a little bit with the financial burden. If you can help in anyway it is very appreciated. If you can’t maybe you can just give John a phone call if you know him he’s always happy to receive a call. His phone number is (518)-307-7316 I just want to say thank you to everyone. God bless and my husband is a strong man and fights the good fight every day. God bless.
