Our mom, Beth Larson, has always been the heart of our family. She’s a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who has shown us what it means to be strong and selfless. But now, she’s facing the fight of her life, and we’re reaching out for help in her time of need. Beth is 67 years old, and on November 25th, our world turned upside down when she was diagnosed with both lung and brain cancer.

The Diagnosis:

On Monday, November 25th, we took Mom to the ER in Sebastian after she began experiencing severe headaches, confusion, and memory loss. A CT scan revealed a 3.35-inch mass in the front left lobe of her brain. She was immediately rushed to Holmes in Melbourne, where we met with a neurosurgeon who recommended emergency surgery. The partial removal of the brain tumor was a success, but a follow-up full-body scan revealed another devastating discovery—a tumor in her right lung.

What’s Next:

Beth is now unable to work or drive, which has added tremendous strain to an already challenging situation. She has consulted with oncologists at Moffitt Cancer Center and is set to begin radiation and chemotherapy on January 20th. These treatments are critical to her recovery, but they come with significant physical, emotional, and financial burdens.

Adding to the difficulty is that her loving husband, our Dad, whom she’s been married to since 1977, is also disabled and relies on an oxygen tank. While their love and strength as a couple are unwavering, they are struggling to manage these overwhelming circumstances alone.

Why We Need Your Help:

As a family, we’ve always taken pride in supporting each other, but now we need your help. My mom has always been a fighter, but this is more than she can manage on her own.  She's the kind of person who lights up a room with her smile and who never hesitates to help others. Now she needs our help. Our Mom and Dad are facing mounting medical bills, everyday living expenses, and the costs of travel for treatments. The financial burden is simply more than they can bear on their own.
