My name is Bethany Stairs, and at the core of who I am, I take care of people. I am a fierce advocate for those I feel I'm responsible for - my family, my patients, my staff and my community. I've been an RN for nearly 20 years and a Nurse Practitioner for over 15 years. The majority of my career has been spent caring for the underserved and advocating for those who don't have a voice. Because I'm usually the one taking care of others, this is hard for me to do, but I'm asking for your help. I applied and was accepted to the Healing Politics Campaign School for Nurses & Midwives. As a healthcare provider I feel obligated to speak up for my patients and community and look forward to doing that through local politics. But as a nurse, I know next to nothing about campaigning. The Campaign school is an intensive training program offered by Healing Politics, a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to engaging nurses and midwives in the civic process and ultimately working toward getting more nurses into elected positions.
As one of our first assignments for this program, we were challenged to fundraise for our attendance and start building a donor base for the future. The money I raise here will go toward my travel, lodging and tuition for the 4 day campaign school in July. This isn't an actual campaign yet, but you would be contributing to my training and education for future campaigns. Any amount you can give will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for considering! And thank you for supporting me on this journey.
