HI friends! As many of you know I am a graduate student at Stephen F. Austin. What you may not know is that this year I was selected to write, direct, and edit my own feature film. Every summer SFA's film school creates a full-length feature film. This is a class that every student takes but unlike a typical classroom our skills and patience are put to the test. We learn to hone our skills when it comes to thinking on our feet and also when to trust the ideas of your crew. I have been an assistant director on two summer features and this year I take on the challenge of director. This means making all the decisions when it comes to actor selections and costumes; lighting to set locations. Although we work within a budget the school provides for meals and equipment; there are things that come up that I will need to cover that cost. This can include makeup and wardrobe or props and set decor to enhance the story's time period. Air BNBs are also rented for a day or two of filming. We have a great community here in Nacogdoches and they work with the film school to help us stretch our budgets. This is a big undertaking, but something I have been preparing for since the 2nd grade. So many of you have gone on this journey with me and have supported in many ways and I can't thank you enough. I hope you can consider partnering with me on this project. And of course, all are invited when the movie premiers in the spring of 2026.
