Join Barry's Fight Against Cancer

As dog lovers, one can’t imagine seeing a dog struggle through pain and suffering, let alone cancer. Then that nightmare became our reality. Our first and youngest boy, Barry, was diagnosed with Synovial sarcoma, an aggressive and rare form of cancer.

Barry has always loved going on walks and just being active in general. But one day, he jumped off of a couch and screamed in pain. We assumed it was an innocent injury or the beginning signs of arthritis, as he has entered his senior years. Unfortunately, his condition continued to worsen as his left hind leg continued to swell. He would be in so much pain if it was landed on, touched, or walked on incorrectly. We took him to the vet to finally figure out what is causing him all this pain. At first, he was prescribed pain medication and anti-inflammatories, but his leg did not improve. He was still in so much pain that he would not care to walk anymore unless to use the bathroom.

After the medications were finished, we took him back to the vet for further testing, then the most horrific news came back. They found a tumor in between his joints that was causing the pain in that left hind leg. The best treatment that was recommended to us for Barry’s current condition is to fully amputate his left hind leg. The location of the tumor is very complex that localized surgery would not be plausible. In 2024, we have already experienced the unimaginable when we had to put our eldest boy, Sherman, to rest due to his health declining rapidly. We would pray and hope that we would not have to experience another pet loss again so soon. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
