Please support Barb and Leland Preston as they actively wage battle against the ultimate brutal enemy... cancer. Leland will undergo stem cell replacement surgery on June 26th and will remain hospitalized in isolation for two weeks, while Barb prepares to be his caregiver. Barb and Leland will then spend another month in isolation at a hotel next to the hospital. Barb’s protocols and procedures are daunting in my mind’s eye, but she accepts them with grace and resolve. My friend and colleague recently retired from her elementary school paraprofessional position, knowing this battle was imminent. She is the BEST kind of human!

SIDE NOTE: Barb also cares for her grandson (for 6 months to a year) when both parents are deployed. Like I said: “BEST HUMAN!”
