¡Bunnies Against Bans! is a DIY event series focused on raising money and awareness for Texas abortion access, as well as other reproductive care. Founded in 2022 in response to SB8, the Texas abortion ban, ¡BAB! has raised over $3,000 for organizations and community members who provide financial and practical support for Texans seeking abortions. By bringing people together through music and the arts, ¡BAB! seeks to not only close the gap between finances and access, but to also empower people to become reproductive justice advocates in their own communities.

We will be fundraising for Frontera Fund, a reproductive support and abortion fund in the Rio Grande Valley–an area that sits along the southern Texas-Mexico border. Our goal for the livestream is $2,000.

This money will directly support practical support and costs associated with abortions and reproductive healthcare. Last year, FFTX partnered with Planned Parenthood Texas to help fund reproductive services, in addition to their support and advocacy work around abortion. They funded over 500 patients in the RGV area, as well as 615 clinic visits, 912 STI tests, and many other procedures such as hormone therapy and mental health referrals.

FFTX is heavily active outside of just funding care. They are present at town halls, lobby during legislative sessions, work within coalitions to provide advocacy trainings and teach-ins, etc. Within the RGV itself, FFTX hosts fundraising events that work closely with the community, featuring local businesses, artists, drag queens, and other organizations in the state.

Our goal is to primarily support their abortion work, but also all the other things that help realize a future where abortion is fully legal, safe, and accessible in the state of Texas. Every Texan deserves to make choices around family planning and reproductive care with dignity, and we’re glad to help FFTX make these dreams a reality.
