Join Azalea's Fight to Recover

Our sweet Azalea. Our strong, fighting, free spirited Azalea.

Last night (5/8/25) right at the stroke of midnight, my brother and sister-in-law awoke to a screaming word no one ever wants or expects to hear… “FIRE!!”

Thankfully all of their family members escaped, however their daughter Azalea has sustained severe burns on 45% of her body. Her face, neck, back, arms, hands, legs and feet are all affected, along with some internal injuries that they are monitoring and beginning to treat as they go.

Dustin and Dylcia also have 3 other children they are caring for (Giovanni 15, Giancarlo 13, and Azalea’s twin sister Zinnia, who is 9) and are currently planning to rotate so that one of them is always by Azalea’s side. Her recovery will be a long journey ahead.

Along with temporary housing, the mountain of medical bills, loss in wages, groceries, new clothes, and replacing most of their belongings due to intense smoke damage and the fire itself, any help you are willing to give is so much appreciated. The tiniest bit will help, or if you aren’t in a position to help financially, simply sharing this link and passing the message along also helps our family.
