Join Austin's Fight Against Invasive Cancer
Donation protected
In January 2025, Austin was diagnosed with stage 4 Invasive Mucinous Adenocarcinoma. Unfortunately, his cancer went undiagnosed following an appendectomy in July 2024 due to a communication failure at the local small town hospital. As a result, we are now significantly behind on treatment, and the cancer has spread, making his situation much more challenging than it would have been had we started treatment on time.
The cancer initially started in Austin's appendix but has since spread to his colon, liver, lymph nodes in the abdomen, and lower lungs. This type of cancer is aggressive, invasive, and grows quickly.
Austin was recently hospitalized for a week due to uncontrollable pain and began his first round of chemotherapy. The primary goal of the treatment is to reduce the mucus levels in his abdomen and slow or stop the cancer's spread. Once there is a response to the chemotherapy, Austin will be eligible for exploratory surgery and HIPEC chemotherapy to remove the cancer. This will be a lengthy and challenging journey.
Austin has a wife and a 14-month-old baby to support, making this even more difficult for their family. Many people have expressed a desire to help, so we’ve set up a GoFundMe to assist with Austin’s healthcare expenses and travel to Kansas City for chemotherapy and surgery at the University of Kansas Hospital. Every donation, no matter the size, will help relieve some of the burden on our family during this incredibly challenging time. Austin and his family would be deeply grateful for any donation. If you’re unable to donate, we simply ask that you keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you so much for your support.
