An Angel's Fight: Helping Aurora Embrace a Path to Full Healing
As we launch this GoFundMe campaign, we are humbled by the opportunity to share our story and invite you to be a part of a journey that holds immense hope and purpose. This isn't just about fighting a disease; it's about helping an extraordinary woman continue her lifelong mission of serving and loving others.
My beautiful wife, Aurora, is truly one of the most generous people in the world. For over 33 years, she has been my steadfast partner, an amazing mother, a cherished grandmother, and a loyal friend. As a military veteran who served over 21 years in the Army and Air Force, I can honestly say that Aurora is the one who sacrificed so much, raised our children, and kept our marriage and family together through every challenge.
Aurora is an angel among us, always finding a way to serve. She's volunteered at a food bank, currently directs our church choir, and dedicates her time to community plays for Christmas and Easter. She fills our home with music, teaching piano lessons, and shares her talent by playing for the choir at Heritage Academy charter school in Laveen, Arizona. Her life is a testament to unwavering service and boundless compassion.
Now, this angel is fighting the battle of her life.
In 2023, Aurora was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma, a type of breast cancer. After a lumpectomy, conventional recommendations included chemotherapy and radiation. However, Aurora, with her profound faith and commitment to holistic well-being, felt strongly guided to pursue a different path of healing. She diligently researched and prayed, making remarkable progress with clear imaging and blood tests.
Then, in March 2025, a new tumor was discovered in the same breast, and tragically, the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes. Local oncologists now recommend chemotherapy before a mastectomy. Yet, Aurora's conviction remains: every individual's health journey is unique, and she has a deep respect for all doctors and patients' rights to choose their path to healing.
After countless consultations, interviews with other breast cancer survivors, extensive research, and most importantly, fervent prayer and seeking God's guidance, Aurora has found her beacon of hope: Oasis of Hope Hospital in Tijuana, Mexico. (www.oasisofhope.com)

Founded in 1963, Oasis of Hope offers a unique and powerful approach, combining holistic healing treatments with conventional medical care – a synergistic blend simply unavailable under one roof in the U.S. They believe in healing the mind, body, and spirit, with an extensive treatment plan backed by years of research and data, boasting a high success rate of full healing.
The challenge? As Oasis of Hope is in another country, insurance does not cover these life-saving treatments. Our savings have been completely drained over the past year and a half by the holistic/alternative treatments Aurora has pursued in the U.S. We urgently need help raising funds for at least three crucial treatment visits. The first, a 16-day intensive program, begins on June 30th, followed by a week-long visit three months later, and a third treatment 4-6 months after that. Oasis of Hope's dedicated team of doctors closely monitors each patient's progress through PET scans, blood work, and constant communication.
Aurora has spent weeks meticulously researching Oasis of Hope, comparing it to conventional treatments in the U.S. While we acknowledge the success of conventional methods for many, Aurora feels profoundly guided by God that Oasis of Hope is where she will find full healing and overcome this breast cancer.
Aurora's goals are not merely to survive, but to truly thrive and live a life of purpose:
• To witness her beloved grandchildren grow up, get married, and embark on their adult lives, with her by their side.
• To continue supporting her grown children in every way she can.
• To serve a full-time mission with me for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, ministering to military families by sharing her experiences as a military wife.
• To continue sharing her gift of music – playing piano for church, the charter school, and teaching her devoted students.
• To once again volunteer at the food bank and engage in other cherished community service.
• To enjoy our shared life together, create new memories, and embark on our dream vacations.
Please, help us make these dreams a reality. Any contribution you feel you can give will make an immense difference in Aurora's fight for a full and vibrant life. Your generosity will not only support Aurora's healing journey but will also empower an angel to continue her lifetime of service to others.
Thank you for being a part of Aurora's hope.
