On March 4th, my mother, Ann, was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer. Because her cancer is inoperable, her only options are radiation and chemotherapy. She has always been a fighter, letting her hard work speak for itself. But just a day after her diagnosis, her employer presented her with a difficult choice: continue performing exhausting physical labor despite her condition or step away without financial security.

Now, she’s not only battling cancer but also fighting for health insurance, housing, and other essential needs. Despite constant pain, she remains strong—my inspiration and the reason I fight, too. She is an amazing mother of four and a devoted grandmother of 12.
