Join Anni’s Army in Her Fight Against Leukemia
Anni Aldridge is a spirited, fun loving, and determined 18 year old who has just begun her freshman year at the University of Alabama, where she is majoring in Communications and recently pledged Chi Omega. A proud graduate of Jefferson High School this past May, Anni was thriving in Tuscaloosa, making lifelong friends, loving her new college life, and stepping confidently into this exciting new chapter.
But everything changed on September 3rd, when Anni was diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APL), a rare and serious form of blood cancer. Her journey began in mid August when she experienced unexplained night sweats, fatigue, and weight loss. After multiple doctor visits, lab work, and a bone marrow biopsy, the diagnosis came quickly, and Anni had to be admitted immediately to begin life saving treatment.
Anni has completed several weeks in the hospital and will now follow with nearly a year of ongoing treatments. She will take oral medications that cause severe side effects, undergo IV chemotherapy cycles, have a port placed, and require weekly labs. When she reaches the end of her initial treatment, Anni plans to return to Alabama in the spring semester and continue her care at UAB in Birmingham. That goal is keeping her strong.
This GoFundMe account is for Anni as she navigates this unexpected journey. Funds raised will go directly toward her medical treatments and the ongoing travel between Tuscaloosa and UAB for care.
As family, friends, and loved ones, we are coming together to form Anni’s Army, a community standing beside her every step of the way. Through it all, Anni’s spirit remains bright, but the emotional, physical, and financial toll is heavy. Every donation, big or small, will help ease the burden, allowing Anni to focus on her recovery and on celebrating the milestones along the way.
Please keep Anni in your thoughts and prayers, and if you are able, consider donating to her fund. Together, as Anni’s Army, we are her community of troops, her soldiers in spirit, fighting alongside her until she returns to the college life she loves and the future she deserves.
