On Wednesday April 10, 2024 our brother Andre collapsed and was rushed to the Lucea Hospital where the medical team found that he had suffered a massive brain stem stroke and an aneurysm due to high blood pressure.

He was transferred on Thursday night to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where the doctors performed surgery to mitigate the effects of fluid buildup in the brain. The surgery was a success however he still remains in a coma.

He was transferred yet again to the High Dependency Unit at the Falmouth Hospital where he showed signs of improvement. He was responding to commands and he opened his eyes.However, he suffered a major setback because of a chest infection caused by being on a ventilator.

On Thursday, May 9, Andre was transferred to ward 9E at the Cornwall Regional Hospital and because he’s so vulnerable the family has arranged for private nursing care, which is $36,000.00 JMD daily.

Many people have been reaching out to offer support during this crisis and we are grateful. Andre is the kindest, most caring and supportive brother and friend anyone could ask for. The consummate professional, his friendliness, open heart and gentle persona has touched many lives from his years at the airport, from Jamaica Dispatch, Air Jamaica, Delta Airlines and for the past 16 years at the IAM Jet Centre. His medical care and the recovery process we anticipate will be a marathon and not a sprint and the costs will be great.
