Join Amanda's Journey to Remission

Story

Our beautiful daughter Amanda was recently diagnosed with breast cancer: invasive ductal carcinoma and lobular neoplasia. At the age of 40, this is something no one expects to happen. Her story began a little over a year ago when she discovered a lump. A biopsy determined it was a non-cancerous cyst and calcifications. The following year during a routine follow-up mammogram, they saw areas that needed further investigation. Since the time the initial lump was found, she has had seven biopsies and a chest MRI. After all these invasive procedures, the anxiety of wondering where her life was heading and what the future held led to panic attacks. Under the guidance of her doctor, the decision was made for a double mastectomy. During the surgery, additional cancer was found leading them to the conclusion it was the right decision. Though the future is unknown, we are very hopeful for complete remission. Her family health insurance deductible is $15,000. Trying to pay this huge deductible is not only difficult but is also stressful, causing additional anxiety for a family that is also running a small business and raising two boys. In light of this challenge, we are embarking on a fundraising initiative to assist the family in covering the vast medical bills associated with Amanda’s care. Any gift received will be much appreciated by the family. Thank you.
