I am writing this in hopes we can take some financial burden from my mom, Sandra.

A little background... A little over a year ago, my mom thought she was battling some kind of sickness. She wasn’t able to eat, she had pain in her stomach, and she was losing weight rather quickly. Being the stubborn woman she is, she didn’t want to go to the doctor. She didn’t seem to be getting better, and her symptoms continued to worsen. She became very jaundiced, weak, and could barely function all while going to work everyday! She finally went to the doctor and explained what was going on and how she had been feeling. They ran some tests along with scans, and that is when we received the devastating news that my mom had cancer. We learned that it was stage 4, and her prognosis was said to be 2-2.5 years, which was gut-wrenching to hear. However, WE are eager and determined to kick cancer's ASS!

Through all the roadblocks she faced, and continues to face, she remained optimistic and positive each day. During all this, she had to take time off work for doctor’s appointments, CT scans, unexpected hospital stays, until she was no longer able to work. Fortunately, during that time she was able to lean on her savings. Well, now things are getting a little more challenging. She barely receives enough from disability to pay her day-to-day living expenses that don’t include gas, groceries, and necessities for her house. I know it takes a village and I'm kindly asking for help! If anyone knows my mom, knows she would give you the shirt off her back, or her last dollar if you needed it. I would love to take some of the financial stress and her not worry about how she will be able to pay her bills.

I know times are tough for many people these days! Anything helps, a share & prayer go a long way!
