We’re Alyshia and Asafa Powell. As a proud Jamaican and former 100 m world record-holder, Asafa has long given our nation hope on the global stage. With a personal best of 9.72 seconds, he is the fourth fastest man in history and holds the record for running under 10 seconds more times than anyone else. Beyond the medals and records, he is a symbol of perseverance and pride. I’m Alyshia, his wife, and together we are committed to helping our communities rebuild after Hurricane Melissa.

After seeing the devastation the hurricane left across Jamaica’s south coast — from St. Elizabeth and Westmoreland to Hanover and surrounding areas — we knew we couldn’t just sit and watch. Families have lost roofs, homes, and access to basic necessities. Many are still without power or clean water. We’ve already started helping where we can, but the need is overwhelming, and we’re reaching out for your support so we can do even more.

Please note: While this campaign is hosted from the United States, all funds will be used directly to support families and communities affected by Hurricane Melissa across Jamaica.

What We’ve Done So Far

With the help of our friends Noah Lyles, Junelle Broomfield, the Lyles Brothers Foundation, and a growing circle of generous supporters, we’ve personally delivered care packages to over 200 families — providing food, water, hygiene items, toiletries, and essentials for children and babies. But that’s only the beginning; there are still countless families waiting for help.

How Funds Will Be Used

All donations will go directly toward:

• Food and bottled water for families in need

• Hygiene products, baby supplies, and toiletries

• Temporary shelter supplies such as tarps, bedding, and blankets

Donations will help families meet immediate needs and play a part in rebuilding a stronger Jamaica, one family at a time.
