Ally Schrandt was involved in a head-on collision involving 3 cars on Saturday, June 22nd, on a two-lane road heading to work. The first vehicle ended up in her lane, hitting her head on at highway speeds, and then she was hit again by the vehicle following her. It is an absolute miracle that she is alive. Thank you, God.
Update: 3
Ally is doing amazing. We are on the road to recovery. We don’t know when they will release her but Ally is making jokes and laughing and enjoying life despite the circumstances. I cannot express how awesome it has been for all the prayers and love sent our way. It definitely has been effective in the recovery of all of us. Posting a new pic of where we are and it’s a good place.
Update: 2
Just met with the orthopedic surgeons and they want try to let tibia plateau fracture heal on itself because the bones are lined up so well that there is more risk with the surgery. The pelvic wing fracture is at the end of the pelvic bone and might also pose more risk with surgery. We started therapy today and are probably looking at about two weeks of therapy before she can come home.
Update: 1
It appears that cerebrospinal fluid leaking out of her ear has completely stopped. No more signs of internal injuries. We should know tomorrow if it will be necessary to have surgery on her pelvis and tibia plateau fracture. Her pain is low and her spirits are high from the outpouring of prayers and friends reaching out to her. It is beyond amazing to see the responses up above. Thank you for your love.
Our daughter Ally was involved in a head on collision involving 3 cars yesterday afternoon on a two lane road heading to work. The first vehicle ended up in her lane hitting her head on at highway speeds and then she was hit again by the vehicle following her. It is an absolute miracle that she is alive. Thank you God.
Asking for your prayers.
Ally got out of surgery this morning for the transverse femur fracture and it went great. She may have to have additional surgeries for :
Fracture on her pelvis and
Tibia plateau fracture
She also a T1 vertebrae fracture but it may not need attention.
Also would love to have prayer for the cerebrospinal fluid leaking out of her ear last night. It has stopped this morning so far which is a great sign.
Also prayer for organs - it seems like we might be out of the woods for internal injuries but they are still watching for phantom internal injuries that may have not shown themselves yet. She has a long road to recovery but we are thankful she wasn’t taken from us.
Asking for your prayers.
Thank you
