11 year old Ali Mustafa Daboul has been diagnosed with Ressesive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa, a rare and severely debiliting skin disorder that results in fragile skin, frequent blistering, and extensive wound care needs. His additional medical history includes: iron deficiency anemia, poor weight gain, high risk for corneal abrasion, contractures and deformities of the hands and fingers, protcinuria, chronic itching, and persistent skin rashes related to his primary diagnosis.
His daily care routine includes:
Full-body moisturizing twice daily
Dressing changes for open wounds 2-3 times daily
Ointment application to uncovered wounds 3 times daily
Daily monitoring for blister formation, which must be cleaned
