*En Espanol mas abajo (see below for spanish) At the beginning of May we started noticing our dad starting to get sick. During this pandemic we all feared that my father had COVID-19, which after numerous tests (3 of them) all came back negative. Dad has had unexplained fever for months on end now which led to decreased appetite and extreme weight loss during these months. After several doctor office visits  and with nothing coming back positive and a desperate need for answers we agreed to have him go in the hospital for inpatient testing.  Once at the hospital for in depth testing we still had no results, the doctors gave us a range from an infectious disease or virus to tuberculosis and yet everything was still negative. After exhausting our local hospital and doctors the best decision was to transfer him to a larger city with a better hospital and a greater number of specialists to get to the bottom of his unexplained sickness. Once he was transferred to a hospital almost 100 miles away from home a numerous amount of doctors started seeking answers which would exhaust us within the first couple of days and beat our poor dad up. After weeks of the unknown we finally received a diagnosis on Friday May 22nd.....Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Now with this devastating diagnosis our beloved mother is now becoming his sole care taker and will have to leave work while we navigate this unknown journey. For all those who know our family know that our parents have always struggled financially but have always given it their all when needed. Their financial state is like no other with my dad being disabled due to a mental condition and my mom working housekeeping almost at minimum wage at a nursing home. With that in mind it is our goal to raise funds to lessen this great financial burden they have coming and allow them to dedicate their energy to dad's treatment and battle with cancer. A principios de mayo comenzamos a notar que nuestro papa comenzaba a enfermarse. Durante esta pandemia, todos temíamos que mi papa tuviera COVID-19, que después de numerosas pruebas (3 de ellas) resultó negativo. Papá ha tenido fiebre inexplicable durante meses, lo que llevó a una disminución del apetito y una pérdida extrema de peso durante estos meses. Después de varias visitas al consultorio del médico y sin que nada resultara positivo y una necesidad desesperada de respuestas, acordamos que fuera internado al hospital para hacerse mas pruebas. Una vez en el hospital para realizar pruebas en profundidad, aún no obtuvimos resultados, los médicos nos dieron una variedad de enfermedades o virus infecciosos hasta tuberculosis y, sin embargo, todo seguía siendo negativo. Después de agotar nuestro hospital local y los médicos, la mejor decisión fue trasladarlo a una ciudad más grande con un mejor hospital y un mayor número de especialistas para llegar al fondo de su enfermedad inexplicable. Una vez que fue trasladado a un hospital a casi 100 millas de distancia de su hogar, numerosos médicos comenzaron a buscar respuestas que nos agotarían en los primeros días y debilitaran a nuestro pobre padre. Después de semanas de lo desconocido, finalmente recibimos un diagnóstico el viernes 22 de mayo ..... Linfoma de Hodgkin. Ahora, con este diagnóstico devastador, nuestra querida madre se está convirtiendo en su única cuidadora y tendrá que dejar el trabajo mientras navegamos en este viaje desconocido. Para todos aquellos que conocen a nuestra familia, saben que nuestros padres siempre han tenido dificultades financieras, pero siempre lo han dado todo cuando es necesario. Su estado financiero es como ningún otro, ya que mi padre está discapacitado debido a una condicion mental y mi madre trabaja en tareas domésticas casi al salario mínimo en un hogar de ancianos. Con eso en mente, nuestro objetivo es recaudar fondos para disminuir esta gran carga financiera que tienen y permitirles dedicar su energía al tratamiento de nuestro papa y luchar contra el cáncer.
