My name is Alan Thompson, and I am reaching out with a humble heart, asking for your support in my fight for a better quality of life.

I have a rare blood condition called Monoclonal Gammopathy of Undetermined Significance (MGUS) https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/conditions-and-diseases/monoclonal-gammopathies.

My doctor at Emory said, in his 12 years at Emory, he has only seen five or six cases. This rare condition has resulted in chronic Kidney Disease stage 5 requiring a Kidney Kidney Transplant (www.emorylivingdonor.org), and my doctors have told me that a transplant is my only hope for a healthier future.

The journey ahead is—physically, emotionally, and financially challenging. Between medical bills, pending transplant surgery, post-operative care, necessary medications, and being medically retired, the expenses are and will be an enormous financial strain.
