Support Aaron Pope, better known as “Chum” to his friends, in His Fight Against Genetic Liver Disease
A difficult diagnosis and an impossible situation.
Our dear friend, brother, and son, Aaron, is facing an unimaginable challenge. He has been diagnosed with a rare genetic liver disease that is rapidly deteriorating his health and quality of life. It has also caused him to not be able to have a liver transplant. He can’t get the liver transplant because of an unfortunate hand dealt by genetics. The only known cure for his specific condition is a liver transplant.
Unable to get on the transplant list
Unfortunately, due to co-existing conditions and specific complications of his genetic disease, Aaron has been deemed ineligible for a traditional liver transplant at this time. This is a heartbreaking reality, leaving him and his family grappling with the uncertainty and fear of his future.
While a transplant remains the ultimate goal, it's currently not an option. Our focus now is on exploring every possible alternative treatment and therapy to manage his symptoms, slow the progression of the disease, and maintain his quality of life for as long as possible. This includes:
* Specific medications and therapies he is undergoing or pursuing
* Dietary changes and lifestyle modifications.
His treatments and medications come with significant costs, both for the therapies themselves and equipment needed to help him cope with the physical and emotional toll of the disease.
This GoFundMe campaign was started to ask for help. Contributions will help cover the increasing medical expenses, ensuring Aaron has access to the best care and a chance against the disease.
Donations will specifically assist with:
* Medication costs: Many medications needed to manage his genetic liver disease.
* Medical appointments and specialist visits: Regular visits to liver specialists, gastroenterologists, and other medical professionals are crucial for monitoring his condition and adjusting his treatment plan.
* Travel expenses: Frequent trips to medical centers for consultations, treatments, and evaluations add up quickly.
* Everyday living expenses.
Every little bit helps
Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference in Aaron’s life and bring hope to his family. Consider contributing and sharing his story. Together, the family and friends can surround him with the support needed to continue his fight.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and prayers.
Sincerely,
The Weaver Family and Friends
