Jeff and Breanne Johnson returned home from a day of 4th of July festivities to find that their entire basement had been flooded with over two feet of water to include septic waste. Their insurance has refused to cover any of the damages and they have suffered significant losses of personal items as their master bedroom and three of the four children's rooms were located in the basement.
Currently they are attempting to salvage what they can from the basement before the start ripping out carpet and tearing out the drywall to start all over again. Any donations will help them pay for dumpster rental, septic repair services, basement repair services (new drywall, carpet), and personal item replacement.
Some of the items they are in need of the most right now are a crib, crib mattress, twin/full size mattress, twin/full size frame, drywall, carpet, bleach based cleaning products, etc.
We will be setting up a Facebook page for anyone local who is able to help clean out and repair the basement. This page will be updated with the link and the Facebook page will provide information like what current items they are in need of and what time they need help at the house.
Any local businesses that may willing to donate services or materials would be greatly appreciated and are encouraged to reach out on the Facebook page. Jeff has been a proud member of the Michigan National Guard for 10+ years and any local veteran groups that want to volunteer or assist are welcome!
