Johnson Family Homes destroyed in Gray Fire

My name is Colleen Lopez, and I am fundraising for Pharelon and Mary Johnson, the mother and grandmother of one of my closest friends, Myryda Johnson.

I texted Myryda on Saturday morning, knowing that the Gray Fire had evacuated her family from their hometown, Medical Lake, WA, the day prior. At this point, I wasn't sure what damage had been caused to any of her family's homes. I asked Myryda if it was OK if I brought her family food during this difficult time. When she replied, she simply asked, "If you have any extra clothes we would take them off your hands." . . .

The Johnson Family was evacuated on Friday, August 18th, 2023 by the Sheriff's Department. They were told to 'GET OUT NOW.' Myryda's family escaped the fires with only the shirts on their back. They found out on Saturday morning that their homes had been destroyed.

While this fundraiser is directly to support Pharelon and Mary, this Gofundme is also to help our dearest friend Myryda. Myryda was raised by Pharelon and Mary, and as adults, there comes a time when we start to take care of the people who took care of us. Myryda has been taking care of Pharelon and Mary since I met her, over 10 years ago.

Myryda lives in a one-bedroom apartment in Spokane, and her family is staying with her until further notice. They don't know what the next steps are, and how long it will take for them to rebuild.

This family did not deserve this. I am hoping that you can all help me, and be the good thing that they need right now by donating money to support the tragic loss they are experiencing. All money raised will help the Johnsons rebuild their new lives in Medical Lake.
