Darrin and Linda (Mosely) Johnson live in Bridgeport, CT and were married on September 9, 2011.

Darrin is 55 years young, and he has four children and five grandchildren. He enjoys life to the fullest, is very outgoing, has an infectious smile and laugh, one who would stand out in a crowd of people, and he constantly thinks of others.

On February 27, 2020, Linda and Darrin received the shocking and life-altering diagnosis of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. This tragic diagnosis has been devastating for Darrin, his wife, extended family, and close friends.

Darrin and his wife learned of the diagnosis after he underwent testing for symptoms that were interfering with his ability to grip and hold objects in his right hand, then his arm strength got weaker, then his right leg, causing him to stumble at times. Finally, after months of meeting with a different specialist at Yale, he was given the terrible news that he had ALS and that his life expectancy would be 2-5 years; it wasn't the news they were expecting to hear. Darrin is currently in a power chair and needs to be cared for around the clock; he has no use of his arms, has difficulty speaking and his ability to swallow is failing. His primary source of nutrition is tube feeding. 

This disease is as insidious as they come for millions of people, but Darrin has a positive outlook on life to find a cure and different treatments. Darrin’s wants to fight to live  and we need your help for this fight to reverse this disease 

We need money to cover his new treatment plan, a new van so he can get back and forth  to the new treatment center, medications and a care giver.
