John's Recovery and independence after severe accident

Hello, my name is John Holmes. Recently, just after Christmas, I was involved in a traffic accident. I was riding my scooter in an intersection making a left turn, and a black Nissan ran her red light, running right into my left side. The force crushed two of my vertebrae and damaged my lower spinal cord and my sacral nerves. A bone shard was centimeters close to slicing my descending aorta. If I had moved myself the wrong way, I would have bled out on the street. The lower half of my body was left temporarily paralyzed for a couple of hours as I irrationally thought I would lose function of my legs for good. I went through a procedure called a spinal fusion and laminectomy. Now I have rods and screws in my backbone, but my pelvic nerves and spine are still damaged. I was in the hospital for a couple of months, struggling to get through therapy for some sense of normalcy. I am a disabled paraplegic now and I am at home doing my best to keep my independence. It's a struggle to walk for long distances and stay on my feet for more than a couple of hours. I will be stuck with a cane for life. I do have a job, but I am still on medical leave trying to prioritize my healing. My short-term disability pay from work was cut off just a few months ago as I have reached my time limit. A bunch of bills have been piling up since my arrival to the ER; some are in the process of being cut off and sent for collections. Another problem is that my previous landlord sold the apartment I was living in, and the new owners won't allow me to renew the lease so I can take my time to heal. So I need help moving somewhere fast, and without hurting myself in the process. I have everything set up for court, but we all know this kind of thing takes millions of years to come through as I suffer the stress of bills and collectors. I don't normally do this kind of thing, but I've decided to swallow my pride and try it out to see where it goes. Being a typical male, I'm not too fond of asking for help, but I feel doom and gloom is around the corner. If there's anything you can spare, it would be amazing. Even taking the time to read this or hitting the share button on your social sites helps a ton. I love you all
