On the 27th October my dad was involved in a serious motorcycle collision on the A38 at Redhill. As a consequence he has sustained life changing injuries .
The severity of the crash meant that he was airlifted to hospital where he very sadly required a lower leg amputation. He also sustained a significant fracture to his femur and a bleed on the brain . He remains in hospital and is making small improvements everyday helped by all the amazing staff, to whom we will be forever grateful.
Dad has worked as a delivery driver for a local farm and is very well liked and respected as he is always kind and has a smile on his face. He still hopes to return to work in some capacity as his recovery allows.
As a family we have decided to crowdfund to help him maintain his independence by adapting the house to his needs. Money raised will also help with his prosthetic journey and the inevitable loss of earnings.
Dad has ridden motorbikes all his life and it is part of who he is as a person, its his passion and you loose a little part of who you are when you cant do the things you love so i hope that this will help him get back some of his spark again.
