My name is Kassie and I’m making this on behalf of my very ill dad and our family. On February 1st, 2015, our dad was found unresponsive in our home due to an underlying chronic illness that we wouldn’t find out until months later. He was diagnosed with Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP) in October of 2015. We have been jumping through hoops medically and going to every hospital in the metro to get things figured out. He has undergone extensive therapies, plasmapheresis, hospital stays, and numerous medications. On Wednesday, October 19th, 2022, one week after his 47th birthday, he coded in our home again losing both his oxygen and his pulse. The grace of God brought him back, but he isn’t doing anything on his own. He is intubated and has an arterial line going. He has yet to respond to us. It isn’t looking well. My sisters, mom, and myself are ready to do testing to donate liver, kidneys, and anything else we can logically give, but these are expensive procedures and if he succumbs to his illness we will be planning a memorial. My parents have had a hard, but wonderful 25 years together but it’s not meant to be over yet. My dad still has to see his daughters graduate high school and college and walk me down the aisle for my wedding. He has touched many peoples lives and hearts and I’m just asking for everyone who loves and cares for him and my mom to do the same back.
