RIP John Newell Wohlberg
March 6, 1952 - February 14, 2017
Saying goodbye to such a beloved sailor and friend is almost impossible. John left earth to sail the heavens on Valentines Day. He had been dealt a very difficult hand after a serious deer strike accident in 2007. After many orthopedic surgeries, chronic pain, dealing with severe adult onset diabetes for over 20 years, and his inablity to work, was increasingly challenging for such a brilliant, talanted man, and active mind.
John's final wishes are being honored for him, and for his beloved dog Buddy who was always by his side.
Your donation toward these expenses...boarding his dog, funeral costs, and an obituary in the Tampa paper, would be greatly appreciated.
To John's many friends that are reading this, John had a special love for you....he cherished those that crossed his path, and wished only good things for you all. In the darkest of times he only thought about how he could help others...he had a deep faith in God, and his well-worn Bible was within reach always.
I never heard John speak badly of others, and his wish for you all was a life "filled with rainbows and butterflies." He was the perfect gentleman, and I always told him "you are my Cary Grant" ... his impeccable manners being a nod to his lovely Southern belle mother, Lillian who John absolutly adored.
As John's personal representative, Dorry Christy, I am in charge of dispursement of these funds and carrying out Johns wishes that were spelled out in his will.
Thank you to all who are able to donate. It is greatly appreciated.
RIP John.....sail on sailor....sail on. You were the best of the best. No one did it better. You are missed.
