In March of 2022, John started not feeling well. He saw his family doctor, gastrologist, urologist, hospital visit and an endocrinologist.  Doctors ran a battery of tests: Xrays, ultrasounds, CT scans, MRI and blood tests. It was determined that John had a mass on his adrenal gland. Cancer was suspected but was presumed to be wrapped up in a cute package.  Fast forward to Aug 2022: surgery date. The surgery that was suppose to be 2 hours was 5 1/2 hours.  The Doctor came out and turned Lisa's world upside down.  It was not a pretty package it was a disaster and in trying to remove the cancer they nicked a major artery.  Surgery was immediately stopped and the rest of the cancer would remain in his body.  

Two weeks later Pathology showed it was lung cancer that has already spread to the adrenal gland.   This is now Stage 4 Lung Cancer.  John and Lisa met with more doctors, he went for a Pet scan, MRI and CT scan of the brain.   To their surprise ... John has a mass in his lung, both adrenal glands were affected and also has three lesions on his brain.  

In late September John started double chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments.  In-between chemo, John will be undergoing Stereotactic radiosurgery treatments on his brain. 

By the grace of God, John has been able to continue teleworking on most days in-between treatments.  Lisa has cut back drastically with her business in order to properly care for John.  Between doctor appointments, treatments, being home after treatments to make sure he's okay and running around with their three kids, she hasn’t been able to devote as many hours to working for her small business as she usually would.

This is a scary diagnosis for them and the kids.  They believe God is in control and are hopeful that John can be healed on this earth.
