Anyone that knows Johnny Leonardo II would say that he is a talented musician and is one of the kindest, whole hearted, non judgmental people they know. He considers himself a minimalist and asking for help is not natural. I am starting this Go Fund Me because I know so many will want to help Johnny.
March 24th 2021 Johnny went into surgery to remove an intestinal blockage, he had been experiencing abdominal pain and vomiting for over a year at this point. After a lot of back and forth with the doctors and a couple misdiagnoses we were told that it was a GNET (Malignant Gastrointestinal Neuroectodermal Tumor). There is only 90 known cases of this cancer, that means Johnny had a .000001% chance of getting this cancer. The best prognosis known is 18 months to 5 years.
We are fortunate that the entire tumor was removed with clear margins. One of the 12 lymph nodes removed had cancer in it. Johnny is opting for some natural treatments and perhaps low dose chemo, that focus on healing the source rather than fixing a symptom. Modern medicine is saying chemo is the best option, though it has not proven to be successful with a GNET tumor. He is otherwise very healthy and standard chemo does not seem to be the best option. The doctors recommended that Johnny leave his home and friends in Bellingham, Washington and move to Florida to be with his family. We made that trip cross country last week and now need to get him into treatment as soon as possible.
As anyone that has dealt with this knows, cost are adding up quickly. Moving cross country cost $10,000, diet and supplements are expensive, and the best treatment facility we have found is in Mexico (just an hour south of San Diego) and will cost $30,000 plus travel.
As the prognosis is short, we hope to raise this money quickly. We believe Johnny can be the first person to beat this!!!
Thank you all for reading, donating, and sharing.
