Johnny Polanco RIP Fund

Donation protected

It is with great sorrow that we make the request that you support the Johnny Polanco RIP fund.

Friends of Johnny Polanco are requesting your generous contribution to gift to his wife so that she may feel supported. Funds will go towards funeral costs.

Johnny Polanco was born in the South Bronx, New York, to Dominican and Puerto Rican parents who loved the music of the Caribbean, especially Puerto Rican, Cuban and Dominican rhythms.

Johnny was a very generous soul. He touched thousands with his music. His work ethic was like no other, even going to one last show the night before he had a second heart attack. He was committed to his craft, his band, and his family. He never missed a show.

His life was music, a self-taught musician. He self taught himself how to play guitar, as well as the tres guitar, violin, percussion instruments, elecrtic bass, trombone and vibraphone. He had the best salsa band in Los Angeles, playing and touring with the best Salsa artists such as Tito Puente, Tito Nieves, and many others.

He was a loving and supportive friend to many. Those who knew him, knew that he was a gentle loving soul, with the strength of a whole Marine Troop.   He was the best friend any one could have. He was the first to pay a tab, the first to fundraise for a friend in need, and was always there to listen to a friend in distress. And he knew how to make you laugh. He had the best sense of humor. If he considered you a friend, he was your friend in good times and bad. He stood by you and had your back no matter what.

Johnny came to touch us with his music, but he did so much more. There is no one like Johnny Polanco.

He is looking down on us. Singing and playing his trombone.

We make the request of the Salsa Community and of his friends, to make any donation. It is our last opportunity to support Johnny Polanco.  Every cent helps.

Johnny's survivor include his wife, Joanna, his children: Christopher, Melodie, Angela, and Anthony, his parents: AltaGracia and Socrates Polanco and his wife Myriam Polanco, his siblings: Ruben, Rudy, and Milagros, his grandchildren: Dominic and Princeton.

How did he touch you? We want to hear about that too.

We thank you in advance for any assitance. We are grateful for your support.

This is the official and only CrowdFunding for Johnny Polanco.
