Sampson was uninjured in the accident and has spent the weeks while Johnny was recovering at a neighbors home. Johnny was kept in the hospital for much longer than anticipated because the medical professionals discovered complicating health issues that needed time and care to resolve. He was just released, but requires more care and medical attention to fully heal.
Johnny is thrilled to be out and reunited with his beloved pet, Sampson. He spent his first night out on the streets again, but he is weak and the Phoenix summer is hot. After much convincing, Johnny agreed to go to an extended stay hotel to recover fully and gain his strength. Again, it was his neighbors who rallied and found a way to get him into a hotel room for the next four days.
Despite all his adversity, Johnny is extreamly positive and uplifting. He understands the tough spot he is in, but is working hard to regain his strength and get back to productivity. He is also a proud person who does not easily take favors from others. In the past, he worked odd jobs to keep himself and Samson fed. He does not see himself as homeless and has every intention of getting back to work and working towards finding a suitable home for himself and his dog.
His neighbors are working to get him into a medical shelter, sign up for benefits and to help give him the boost he needs to get a place and get back to work once recovered. We all, especially Johnny and Samson, will be eternally grateful if you can help us with a donation toward that effort.
Thank you for reading and sharing Johnny and Samson’s story, and for any donation you can spare,
Johnny, Samson, Barb, Daniel and Mary
