How do you help someone that is the one that always helps everyone else?
When Johnny hits me at 6am on a Saturday I know something is not right. I got the call this morning... Johnny letting me know that he had a fire at his home overnight.
A house fire is an understatement. His home, for the most part, is a total loss. Johnny, Alex, and the dogs are safe thankfully. They were awake when it started and were able to get out of the house. His home and personal items on the other hand, are not OK. Johnny is a single father and he and Alex have lost everything.
We have been getting messages nonstop about how people can help. A lot of people are talking about collecting money, so we figured it would be best to have one central place to donate.
It's a weird situation. We know how to jump in and help when people we don't know need it... But we have never had to do it for one of our own. In the long term insurance will help Johnny out and he will start over... but there is no way to prepare for the short term. Anything that Johnny may not need, we will get into the hands of the people that do.
If you feel moved to donate, by all means please do and we thank you... but please don't feel like you have to... We know a lot of people are going through a lot of things. The amount of people asking how to help is a testament to all the good that Johnny has done for people over the years.
