Johnny's hope. A new treatment for brain injury!
Donation protected

Two years ago Johnny’s life took a dramatic change. Admitted to the hospital for Afib, and after a bad reaction to medication he was given he coded 17 times. He has gone from being on life support with very little hope from doctors to doing things that many people said were impossible. We were all so very grateful that he woke up and that we were able to take him home; however we left with Johnny sustaining a traumatic brain injury, or commonly referred to as a TBI. Our journey has brought us to becoming very knowledgeable with medical jargon, more than I or Johnny ever wanted to know. I am so blessed to have my soulmate with me, I love him and he has been such an inspiration to me, where others have assumed this would tear us apart, it has only brought us closer.
Everything he has been through, he has done with the determination you find in a marine, while having a smile on his face. Johnny has proven so many healthcare providers wrong, he has removed the doubt and fear from his family and friends of "does he know who I am, and will he walk again?" Although we have made many improvements he still finds himself with difficulties in swallowing, talking and balancing. We have again reached a point where doctors say he will no longer benefit from his current therapies and this is how he will be for the rest of his life.
Through true dedication and determination he has conquered milestone after milestone, and with often surprising his care team. I am continually researching and learning of more new advancements that could keep his progression going. We have found a treatment that we have faith and hope that could be beneficial to him. This treatment is specific for neurologic patients with TBI or stroke victims, unfortunately it is not covered by insurance and would be an additional out of pocket expense. Talking with people that know Johnny, I often hear that he believed in them before they believed in themselves. Now, I’m asking you to believe in him. I will not give up on him and I am asking if you can help to please donate to help cover the cost of this treatment. We want to keep his momentum going, we could wait another 10 years for trials to be completed and analyzed, but do not want to wait or to deny Johnny the ability for improvement. He has already been accepted and appointment made for October. Now We need to come up with 10,000 in order to pay for the treatment. If you can’t donate, please share and keep our family in your thoughts and prayers. I will always have his six. If anyone has any further questions I would be happy to answer email me at [email redacted].
