Johnny Reilander and Family Emergency Fund Raiser

By now everyone here knows that Johnny Reilander has been stricken with COPD.

His disease has inexorably progressed from being a moderately uncomfortable respiratory condition, through the phases of ever-increasing physical debilitation, and sadly now Johnny has finally reached the end-of-life stage in which his lungs have almost completely stopped working.

He has fought this disease with the same tenacity that he has lived his life - a role model to many in his determination to succeed.

But tragically he is about to lose the most important battle of all - and going forward, on top of the awful emotional cost

his family are also faced with a huge financial battle.

This cruel disease has slowly stolen the life of a proud, celebrated, wonderful and caring person, and the effect it has had on his wife and son has been utterly devastating.

He hasn't been able to work since 2017, and the combination of income support added to the tiny state carer's allowance that Anita receives wouldn't adequately feed and house one person, let alone three.

So it has been impossible for them to afford a funeral plan or any other contingency for the inevitable situation in which they will very shortly find themselves.

Throughout his life Johnny has been a friend to all who know him, and he has never shied away from going the extra mile to support anyone in need.

He and his family are now in their darkest hour, and it seems only fitting that we should all stand by him in any way we can.

In starting this crowdfund we understand that times are tough for most of us right now - so we only ask that all those who count themselves as his friend contribute no more than they can afford in order to help him and his little family.
