Johnny is a long time member of the punk and harm reduction communities, and a member of The Sidewalk Project. In late July, Johnny was walking home when a police officer drove his car directly into him, running him over without stopping and breaking both his legs. Johnny is facing multiple surgeries and a long recovery from this violence. He is the father of a young daughter. He and his partner were already struggling to make ends meet for their family, and now the situation has become impossible. Johnny is not able to work to provide for his family, and has a long healing road ahead of him. Please help us help Johnny stabilize financially while healing from this extreme police violence. It is not lost on us that the cop running him over comes at a time of increased state violence towards people with Brown skin. Accountability will come later, for now we are focused on the survival of Johnny, his partner and his daughter. Everything helps!
