My name is Carol Rios. I am a mother of two adult sons, and I have three nephews of adult ages. Johnny is 59 years old, who needs Stem Cell Therapy due to a serious stroke about a year and a half ago. Johnny lives alone except for his little chihuahua named Bolt. Johnny was always strong and capable in taking care of himself, his home, and most of all, in his work as a pipe-fitter.
The day he had a stroke, he had no way to reach his phone to call for help. He fell on his face inside the house and busted his eye and head. To this day, he has difficulty seeing. He found himself on the floor in a pool of blood in his bathroom but could not walk due to the paralysis on his entire right side. Since he still had strength on the left side, he managed to drag himself to the bedroom to find his phone. Johnny could not reach his phone up on his desk. He went unconscious in there and woke up a day later. After that, he dragged himself out the front door to yell for help onto the front deck. One side of his face being paralyzed, including his throat, it was also hard to use his voice, but he tried for over three hours to scream for help. Meanwhile, as he told me, his dog was barking incessantly trying to attract the attention of a neighbor, which did finally work. His wonderful neighbor called for help. They called the paramedics, and he was taken to the hospital.
Johnny is receiving physical therapy but is looking forward to some of the new therapies such as stem cell therapy. Stem cell therapy is said to be very effective but is expensive. We are exploring other methods of therapy as well. Whatever you can do to help is greatly appreciated.
