Dear Friends, Family, or those who have been touched by Johnny and Kelly,

We are reaching out to let you know that our dear friend Johnny was recently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Many of you know Johnny (age 43), as a Big Baddeck resident, a community employee, volunteer, and of course a loving husband to Kelly and father to their son Dawson. With this heartbreaking news, we know Johnny is facing a challenging journey ahead. Johnny has recently qualified for immunotherapy Keytruda treatment which fortunately gives him some extra time with the ones he loves.

We are reaching out to our community, friends, and anyone with a compassionate heart to join us in supporting the Fitzgerald family during this difficult time. As the news of Johnny’s battle spreads, many of his friends and family have expressed a desire to help. This GoFundMe campaign is our way of creating a single, unified source of support for the Fitzgerald’s, providing them with the flexibility they need as they navigate Johnny’s treatment.
