Johnny Diep's Family Fund

Thank you to everyone who helped support Johnny and his battle vs cancer.  Unfortunately, he was called up to heaven much too soon.  His positivity and great spirit continue to live on through his children, Jacob and Hannah, and of course his beloved wife, San.  

We are hoping that everyone can continue sharing this GoFundMe, as it has now morphed into more of a help the kids future college tuition, along with the other big expenses that have passed and others yet to come.   Thank you and God Bless!





We are reaching out to you on behalf of our friend, Johnny Diep. 

Over the last 5 months, Johnny has been dealing with serious health issues, and he is now able to share his journey and ask for your help. Earlier this year, Johnny noticed a drop in his energy levels. Despite this, he continued working and staying active with his two young kids, Jacob and Hannah.  Even though he got a physical in January that showed nothing wrong, he went to the doctor's office in April after continuing to not feel so well.  After a series of doctor’s visits and diagnostic studies, they discovered several masses in his liver.  He was diagnosed with Liver Cancer. 

Johnny has always been active and physically fit.  It goes to show that this deadly disease can  happen to even the best of people.  This is something unexpected and has affected his entire family along with his many friends.  Johnny is strong and he is going to fight this disease. 

He has begun the initial stages of chemotherapy but experienced some more unexpected setbacks with bile duct blockage which resulted in an extended hospital stay.  The plan is to receive treatment at the The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas once he gets discharged from the hospital.  Unfortunately, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is considered outside of network for his insurance, which will result in a significant financial hardship for his family.   He does not have time to wait for all the slow paperwork and approval (most likely denial to go out of network).  Time is urgent, and we need your help.

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center has many patients that are similar to Johnny's demographics, which gives him the best chance at getting the proper treatment to beat this cancer.  He has exhausted specialists in the local area, and it is critical that he ramps up testing and attains a proper diagnosis and treatment.

We refuse to let this be the end of Johnny’s journey and ask that you help us raise funds to support Johnny’s fight.  His wife has been by his side during this whole ordeal.  Despite the circumstances, his two children go on with their everyday activities with as much normalcy as one can expect.  For those of you who know Johnny, you know he would be the first one at your side to help.  As his friends, we are devastated. We all ask "Why him?"  This is an answer that will never be able to be answered, but this is Johnny, who brings so much friendship to our lives.  Here lies an incredible opportunity to support our dear friend in his biggest time of need. 

- Treatment from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center outside of Johnny’s insurance coverage 
- Vitamins and Supplements
- Miscellaneous treatment costs (co-pays, transportation, etc.)

We ask that you help us in our push for $100,000. This is our goal for this GoFundMe campaign and all money received will provide Johnny the opportunity to receive the most proper treatment at the best institute possible for his case.

Every dollar towards our goal counts.  We want to make sure that Johnny gets the proper treatment and at the same time know that his family will be okay financially.
