Johnny Clark

Many of you know me as Johnny's friend, sometimes assistant, and, as he usually described me, "helper." I have known Johnny for more than 20 years and from the time he replaced my water heater when it conked out on my birthday, to patiently teaching me the right way to swing a hammer, to dragging me out of the house after the sudden loss of my father - Johnny's generous help and support has been a constant in my life, just as it has been for many of you. Now Johnny needs us and I am reaching out to ask for your help in this difficult time to help ease the burden on our friend and show him how much his support has meant to us over the years.

Johnny was recently diagnosed with invasive bladder cancer and had a procedure that failed to remove the tumor. He then underwent a long and complex surgery to remove his bladder. Unexpected complications followed, leaving him too weak to walk without assistance. After spending more than a week in the hospital, he is now in rehab to further heal and regain his strength. His prognosis is good, but recovery has been difficult and painful. It will take many weeks to months to adjust to his life-changing condition.

Although Johnny has some medical coverage, it falls far short of covering the expenses associated with a major illness, let alone the hardship of being out of work. I appeal to all of you, his friends and family, to help ease this financial burden and support Johnny while he does the hard work of recovery.
