Help John Nordlinger with ALS
Some of my friends know I left the high tech world of Microsoft Research to follow my dream of combining technology and storytelling by pursuing a film and tv masters at USC. Upon graduating I moved to Bishop, California, to write, hike, and climb. However, many of you may know that after an ice-climbing accident, I started experiencing symptoms that were diagnosed as ALS on May 1st, 2017.
ALS is a fast progressing and debilitating neurodegenerative disease which includes advancing effects that require me to seek assistance for even the most mundane aspects of daily existence. I have lost movement in my hands and arms and have trouble speaking, eating, and breathing. Soon I will need 24 hour care.
With Social Security and Veterans benefits applied for but not being paid and stuck in bureaucratic limbo, rising medical and care expenses, I am humbly reaching out for assistance. Friends have generously asked how they could help, and a website such as this can help organize their efforts.
I am hoping to raise the minimum of 20k for medical help after the 5% GoFundMe deduction. Thank you for your support.
